Motorstar’s Café 400

Well… retrobike lovers have been waiting for nearly a year now and finally Motorstar’s caferacer inspired bike is now available.

That bike we first reported as the “Shineray XY400” is now being distributed by Motorstar as the Motorstar Cafe 400, a vintage looking bike that can be ridden legally along superhighways.

Bobby Bayon of Motorstar said the Café 400 has been made available two weeks ago after the unit has underwent a few changes. The new variants of the bike were on display at the Motobuilds Pilipinas event at Tiendesitas in Pasig City over the weekend.

“The changes were minor naman. As you can see it comes in two colors, silver-black and orange-black,” he said.

Bayon said the demand is high especially among retro bike enthusiasts.

“We have been receiving a lot of orders already,” said the Motorstar executive.

Among the changes we noticed are the bike’s painted fenders unlike the green one which sported chromed fenders. We also spotted the name Motorstar stamped on the engine cover, unlike before.

We also had the opportunity to ride its test unit around Tiendesitas. It was a bit heavy on the front, but it could be because we could ride the bike at regular speed as there were lots of vehicles blocking the driveway.

The Café 400 is priced at P140,000 on installment basis and P126,250 if it will be paid in cash.

The Café 400 was first introduced to local bike enthusiasts at the Shineray XY400 during the Motorsiklo Ekslusibo event in August last year.
