Honda PH unveils Click150i
Last year, Honda Philippines managed to corner more than 50% of the 1.1 million motorcycles sold in the country. A strong position in the local market, no doubt—one which the Japanese manufacturer hopes to solidify with the launch of the new Click 150i lifestyle scooter.
The frontliner product was unleashed last Saturday in Paranaque City, followed by a grand celebration in Pasay City called the Honda Gen-S Scooter Festival. Although the model retains many design features of the previous Click 125cc, the new Click 150i boasts a new fuel management system and a more aggressive 150cc twin-cam engine derived from Honda Smart Technology. More compact in size, the new scooter has improved fuel injection technology that delivers better bottom-end torque with a claimed fuel efficiency of 52km/L.
The scooter makes for an ideal transport in city traffic thanks to its nimble and agile nature, owing to its short wheelbase. The Click 150i also features a combi brake system (simultaneous front and rear braking) which provides more dependable stopping power. Another new and unique add-on is the Answer Back System; a beeper which helps users locate their scooter within a 15-meter range. It also comes with a large 18L compartment bin.
While the previous model already has a large following since it launched about two years ago, the Honda Click 150i is targeting the younger generation of riders that include the yuppies (young professionals) and career-oriented individuals dubbed by the motorcycle maker as 'Generation S.' Honda Philippines executives are optimistic it will be hit among current and aspiring Honda AT (automatic transmission) scooter owners in the country.
"We are committed in innovating our line-up in excellence, and that we will satisfy our Filipino customers, especially the younger generation we are calling Gen-S. We want them to experience the forefront of motorcycle technology by consistently raising the bar. The all-new Honda Click 150i has advanced smart technology that guarantees safety and superior fuel consumption in a more powerful engine," says Daiki Mihara, president of Honda Philippines.
"Our line-up never stops. The Gen-S story continues as we officially launch the all-new Click 150i on top of our other Gen-S models, because the new generation of smart riders are now expanding into the sports category of motorcycles," says Jason Elises of Honda Philippines.
The 2017 Honda Click 150i comes in three designs: blue metallic matte, black matte and brown matte, and are priced at P89,990. This new Honda two-wheeler is now available nationwide along with original accessories.
