Kawasaki, Bajaj to end partnership?
India Kawasaki Motors and Bajaj Auto Ltd. have recently announced that they will be ending their 9-year partnership.
In a statement posted via Rouser Philippines’ Facebook page, Kawasaki Motors Philippines Corp. VP Teench Layosa-Doval Santos said the two bike manufacturers “will amicably cease its alliance on April 1, 2017 after a strong 9-year partnership.”
Doval-Santos, however, clarified that the split is only in India and that Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. and Bajaj will continue to maintain their cooperative relationship in the rest of the world, including the Philippines.
“Please be assured that the Alliance between Kawasaki Motors Philippines and Bajaj that started in 2004 will still prosper and be stronger than ever,” said Doval-Santos.
“This is our solid commitment towards providing quality motorcycles and utmost case to our customers in the Philippines.”
The partnership has paved the way to the production of the Kawasaki Rouser series, which is one of the more popular bike series in the Philippines.
Last November, Kawasaki has introduced the much-awaited Rouser RS200 to the local market.
